As a 24-year-old Vegetarian who has been one by choice and practically all her life, I wonder if it would be worth it to switch to chicken, meat, and fish to meet my dietary requirements. Having been away from “Chicken protein” all my life, the simple answer to this question is No! There isn’t a need to switch to non–vegetarian food items. Rather, supplement to include protein and vitamins in your diet.
A whole shift has started to move to plant-based diet for its numerous benefits! And might I add, without harming the animal or plant kingdom, even 1%?
In our exploration, we discuss the carbon footprint and ways to reduce it. We also delve into sustainable clothing and its impact on the environment. Additionally, we explore living in harmony with nature and offer delicious plant-based recipes.
It could be different reasons for different people but as an Indian living in Delhi for the past 20 odd years. I have realized that my faith multiplies when I can provide a reason. A logical explanation for my choices quickly – this one being Spiritual.

I am a firm believer in the laws of Karma. Being born in a Brahmin–Pandit family who have their roots in Lahore (present day Pakistan). My grandparents have instilled some firm beliefs of hinduism that I fully agree upon.

One is the practice of laws of Karma.

It is a beliefs of hinduism or now, more than a belief. A strong identity which focuses upon Vegan diet. A thought process of not harming or disrupting the Animal world at all costs. This firm beliefs of hinduism directs me to the path of consuming everything and anything. One that has no connection to harming the Animals.
Mindfulness
Planning and preparing plant-based recipes can encourage mindfulness. Individuals become more aware of their food choices. And how they impact their bodies, the environment, and the spiritual connection.
Connection to nature
Eating a plant-based diet can deepen one’s connection to nature. As it emphasizes the consumption of foods that come directly from the earth’s roots.
The benefits of a plant-based lifestyle go far beyond individual health advantages. Offering a profound connection to the world around us. And reflecting the age-old adage,

The phrase suggests that the food you consume plays a significant role in shaping your overall health and well-being. It implies that the quality of your diet directly influences your physical and even emotional state. The adherents of a plant-based lifestyle commonly adopt specific practices that reflect their values and beliefs.
The diet and nutrition we consume have a direct impact on our health and well-being. In Ayurveda, food is considered mahabhaisajya, the most superior medicine. It means putting healty diet at the top of a person’s balanced diet chart with exercise.

Cook a vegetarian meal weekly.
Structure it around beans, whole grains, and vegetables.
Whole grains for breakfast.
Start with oatmeal, quinoa, buckwheat, or barley. Then, add nuts or seeds and fresh fruit.
Go for greens.
Incorporate a range of leafy greens like kale, collards, Swiss chard, spinach, and others into your daily meals.
Build a meal around a salad.
Fill a bowl with salad greens like romaine, spinach, Bibb, or red leafy greens. Mix in various vegetables, fresh herbs, beans, peas, or tofu.
Eat fruit for dessert.
A ripe, juicy peach, a refreshing slice of watermelon, etc.

Let me share some tasty and healthy plant-based recipes: Breakfast/Dinner options. These are also vegan diet!
1. Lettuce Wrap with Chickpeas/Soy chunks/Tofu fillings
Create delectable lettuce wraps with this easy-to-follow recipe. Perfect for a vegan meal with flavour and nutrients.
- Sauce: Mix cornflour/corn-starch with water until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Crumble tofu: Drain the tofu, cut it into 5mm/0.2″ slices, and crumble it into mince-like pieces with your fingers. Boil the Chickpeas and drain the water; keep the Boiled chickpeas aside.
- Filling: Heat oil in a large non-stick pan over high heat. Cook the onion, garlic, and carrot for 1 minute. Add the green beans and mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes until the green beans are still firm.
- Sauce it: Add tofu, Chickpeas, and soy chunks to the pan and toss. Pour in the sauce and stir for 1 minute until thickened and the mixture is coated. Add a splash of water if it evaporates too quickly.
- Serving: Transfer the filling to a bowl. Serve with lettuce leaves, green onion, peanuts, and sriracha.
- DIY lettuce wraps: Spoon filling into lettuce leaf, drizzle with Sriracha, sprinkle with peanuts and green onion, fold, and eat!

2. Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Indulge in a refreshing and nutritious strawberry banana smoothie, perfect for a quick and satisfying plant-based breakfast or snack. This one’s a hit for all ages. Add milk of your choice, either soy or Almond milk, according to availability.
- Gather Ingredients: Collect ripe strawberries, a banana, almond milk, honey, and ice cubes.
- Prepare Fruit: Wash the strawberries and remove the stems. Peel the banana and chop it into chunks.
- Blend Ingredients: In a blender, combine the strawberries, banana chunks, a cup of almond milk, a tablespoon of honey, and a handful of ice cubes.
- Blend Until Smooth: Blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy, adjusting the consistency with more almond milk if needed.
- Serve: Transfer the smoothie to a glass and enjoy it right away. Optionally, garnish with sliced strawberries or a drizzle of honey!

3. Vegan Chicken – Burger

- Prepare Jackfruit: Drain and rinse canned young green jackfruit, then shred it with a fork to resemble pulled chicken.
- Season Jackfruit: In a bowl, mix shredded jackfruit with spices like paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Form Patties: Shape the seasoned jackfruit mixture into burger-sized patties.
- Coat with Breadcrumbs: Dip each patty in a mixture of breadcrumbs and nutritional yeast to coat.
- Cook Patties: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the patties on each side for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Assemble Burgers: Serve the jackfruit patties on burger buns with toppings like lettuce, tomato, vegan mayo, and pickles.

4. Vegan Banana Pancakes
