Every stride a big cat takes in a photo shoot is a frame, and I had the honour of photographing “Choto Maa,” the Tigress of Sundarbans Biodiversity, on my first encounter. After a long search, on the second day we found Queen Choto Maa out in the open. Tiger sightings are usually great recollections for any wildlife photographer, and this was no exception.

My Experiences: Biodiversity Hotspot of Sundarban

Biodiversity hotpsot is perhaps one of the most difficult sites in India to see and photograph tigers. The forest area is diiferent from other tiger reserve in India. Water safari routes have various limitations and limited boat movements, making spotting the bengal tiger difficult. It’s a game of patience in which you must play with some fresh pug markings. We need to calculate the assumptions and experiences of a good guide/boatman. It needs luck and blessings and a different strategy and game plan entirely. You must have faith in yourself and the full support of Mother Nature.

This wildlife photography capture was made possible by the tireless team efforts of the entire team. Thankful to Satyaki Naha, Sridam Gayen, Golok Gayen, Shibu Mondal, Amal Mondal, Pradip Mandal, and Mother Nature’s blessings. I used a Nikon Z9 and a Nikkor 500mm PF lens to capture this fantastic event.

Thank you for joining me on this thrilling adventure into the heart of the Sundarban national park, the biodiversity hotspot. Sundarban tiger awaits you.
